Making a Swirl Brush

1. Open up a new canvas, preferably 800×800 pixels

2. Create a new layer, then select the Brush Tool

3. Select a 9px Circle Brush



4. Using the brush, draw something like this (it doesn’t matter if it’s perfect or not) :



5. Now select Filter > Distort > Twirl



6. Set the Angle to 999 degrees



7. Now you should end up with something like this :



If you play around with some of the settings, like changing the size of the brush or drawing the circle in a different direction, you’ll come up with a slightly different looking brush.
