School’s Out

School’s finally out for the summer! No more trudging up ten flights of stairs or listening to teachers drone on about how incompetent we are.

The last week of school was pretty typical. Our Philosophy/RS teacher decided to freak the crap out of us. He was like, “Since it’s our last day together, I’ll show you a video that helped me while I was mentally depressed. It helped me get in touch with God.” Everyone was all silent but in our minds, we were like what? Isn’t he like an atheist or something? No one said anything because he made it sound like it was serious business. So we were watching it there was this woman meditating and doing yoga. Then a few minutes into the video, one of those ghost heads pop up and there was a blood curling scream. I didn’t get my crap freaked because I wasn’t concentrating real hard on the video, I just thought it was hilarious. I don’t think anyone else was freaked out either, they were just wearing WTF expressions on their faces.

I’m not going anywhere this summer nor do I have any life changing plans. I might just stay at home and eat ice cream. It’s not as if I have anything better to do. Everyone else is probably out drinking and going clubbing. But nope, not me. I’m just going to sit on the sofa and eat Ben and Jerry’s.

I don’t know how I’m going to spend all this free time. Summer really freaks me out sometimes because I keep trying to be productive by doing something productive but when I end up not doing anything productive, I start freaking out about how I’m being unproductive so I calm myself by watching TV then the next thing you know, I’m being super unproductive.

It just never works when you force yourself to be productive. Like I could force myself to write the next Great American Novel (not that I would, seeing as I’m not American) but unless I’m suddenly inspired to do something, forcing myself to do it just ends up in disaster. It’s like forcing yourself to be creative.

Anyway I checked out the new Deathly Hallows Trailer the other day and it looks pretty amazing. I got chills all over just watching that. The only nit I have to pick is how worn out Voldemort looks. His eyes are all milky and bloodshot and his lips are really chapped. I mean, jeez man, put on some lip gloss. Don’t they have chap sticks in the wizarding world? Just because he’s some big shot dark lord doesn’t mean he shouldn’t take care of himself. After all that work retrieving Harry Potter’s blood and the bone of his father or whatever to get a new body and he ruins it with poor dental hygiene. I just think Voldemort looks kind of weird in the trailer. It’s like he grew older but how is that even possible? I’m pretty sure Voldemort isn’t going through puberty like Harry Potter and gang. And how does growing old even work in his new flesh?

On other note, vote Memorylast for SOTM? I’m pretty behind on the whole voting thing because I didn’t ask people to vote yet. I was planning on doing it when I make a new blog but I couldn’t think of anything to blog about which is why I’ve been putting it off for weeks. How I still managed to get 9 votes is beyond me but I’d appreciate it if you voted!

I wasn’t a big fan of that movie. I think they would have done better without some of the dumb “horror” scenes, like when the Gyspy was EATING HER FACE? That was retarded. And the lady tried to kill her. I think it was a little over the top and it was not a well put together movie, and her digging the grave and then almost drowning in it was also a bit over the top.

With Prince of Persia, it has the same elements as Pirates, with the sense of props and scene set-ups, etc. Basically, its filmed a lot like Pirates and the characters and scenes are probably interchangeable. But I just don’t like Jake really pulled it off. And I think parts of it were good because I enjoyed all the Pirates movies very much, but the “added humor” that they make Jake use doesn’t work out as well as Johnny Depp doing it. But if you liked Pirates, you will ENJOY the movie as well as pick out some of the things you don’t like. :)

LOL, I wouldn’t be surprised if any of my teachers did that. BTW, I love your site :)

I love that feeling of freedom once school is over. :3
Ah, teachers do seem to do that a lot. It’s somewhat unmotivating…
And as for 10 flights of stairs, oh my. Last year I had to trudge up four flights just to get to my form room, so that’s up in the morning, down for assembly, down for lessons, up for break, down for lessons, up to dump bags, down to get lunch, up after lunch, down to lessons, up at end of day…

Surprisingly I got used to them~

Wow… that’s a pretty interesting lesson. D: Though the video, personally, doesn’t sound that in-touch with God at all. :/

I have the same problem… I think, “Summer! Let’s do something!” And then by the end of the holiday I’m wondering what I even did that was productive…
Yeah, these kinda things have got to come naturally, especially writing. You can be inspired to write something but forcing yourself to do it takes the joy and the flow out of it.

LMFAO. Well, true. One must mantain personal hygeine, ESPECIALLY if you are an evil guy. Personally I always thought evil guys were best when they were drop-dead gorgeous, because I think it looks better. Not to say Voldemort is gorgeous but… yeah… kay I’ll shut up now. I can’t wait to see the film, anyway.
I’m pretty sure he’s past puberty too. He left Hogwarts, remember, and was old enough to get a job :P

    I voted. ^^

    Take care! xx

wow, ive been inactive a long time. I really out of the loop mann ;P
But hi… your lucky… Im still at school till Thursday. :( We only have 5 weeks worth of summer holiday this year, should be 6 but hey… I have no plans either… kinda boring. I hate the summer break because I ALWAYS put on weight, where Im not walking around at school or day, or walking to and from school, plus you always eat more cos your bored, and your SO bored you actually do schoolwork which is equally as boring, so EVERYTHING IS BORING. :( Im not looking forward to summer either cos I moved away from my area this year, so now Im 20 miles away from all my friends, and its really awkward to get to them, and most of them are going to University this year, while Ive chosen to do another year of school to get more qualifications, so they will all be talking about uni and to be quite frank… it all sucks… and is boring. lol. Only thing Im looking forward to is the skydive im doing for charity, but that happens AFTER the break. ergh. Anyway, hope your enjoying your vacation to date. :D

OH MY GOSH… I watched the trailer too and i am SO EXCITED. I actually cannot WAIT till the film comes out. (Im harry potter obsessed by the way… Im actually getting a harry potter spell tattoo on my foot…lol at how lame I am..) I know what you mean about Voldemort. Maybe he looks like that cos in this film Harry is killing off bits of him, so hes gradually looking different cos parts of him are dead? I dunno.. seems logical….

Teachers can be so weird that I really am surprised that they aren’t from another planet. When applying for a job in teaching, the interviewer probably asks how weird they are - the weirder the better :P
Seriously, my English teacher is a nutter: he goes on about his random childhood stories and we had an embarrassing moment in class when we were analysing this poem and he starts talking about ‘exchanging liquids and fluids’. Gross :S
I also remember the time when he said, ‘there’s nothing I like more than a ripe banana’ ha ha, we’re so nasty that we like to turn anything he says into an innuendo :P

I live for Ben & Jerrys, Phish Food preferably :D

Gah, I hate those videos! My friend made me do this maze one once where you really had to concentrat and focus on the screen and then one of those screaming people came up.

I have the same feealing you do about summer. I want to be productive, then I freak out because I’m not and become even less productive. My summer is almost over and I’ve barely gotten anything done. D: Ben and Jerry’s is always good though. Cherry Garcia = The Best.

I love how Voldemort looks. Seriously, I want a big fat poster of him on my wall. The problem is all the posters I’ve found make him look all ethereal and dreamy (not dreamy as in hot, dreamy as in blurry and such). I like the in-need-of-chapstick version.

HAHAHAHA! Your teacher’s great lol. Hehe. Your summer sounds INCREDIBLY fun.

His lips are incredibly chapped but he’s not supposed to be sexy or anything. Idk why he’s wants to live seeing as he looks like that. I think a plastic surgeon would do him pro bono seeing as he’s in an incredibly bad situation with his face :/ But I’m also excited for HP :)

w00t for no more school. You guys get out kinda late. maybe your teacher expected you all to think the ghost head was funny or something. Nothing wrong with lazying around sometimes. I have to force myself to be productive. Otherwise I’ve sleep and eat all day. Productivity doesn’t flow naturally to me, lol. LMFAO @ don’t they have chap stick in the wizarding world. I’m not into any Harry Potter stuff. Good luck getting votes!

Mmm, I can’t wait to move back to a city area. I want to get into photography, but unless I want to take a picture of corn or hillbillies, I have nothing to photograph here. I would probably stalk attractive people until they do something interesting.

Yep, it’s cherry. The name is a play on the name “Jerry Garcia.” I believe he was in the band the Grateful Dead. I don’t know….my dad buys his line of ties. Anyway, I usually think cherry ice cream tastes like cough syrup, but they do something different with it. It has dark chocolate chunks in it which are DIVINE. They also make a flavor called Neopolitan Dynamite. It’s a mixture of Cherry Garcia and their chocolate brownie flavor. Mmmm. Ok, enough of my ice cream rant.

I’m not much of a religious person, but I think learning about them is interesting. I took a class that had a whole unit on it last year and it was super interesting. The funny thing was I did the worst on the Christianity test (70%) and I went to a Catholic school for most of my life. Strange how that happened. O.o I think the reason nonreligious people teach subjects like that is because they won’t have any bias, you know?

Haha, I don’t think Voldemort is hot…just awesome-looking. Kinda like the Joker from The Dark Knight. Harry Potter is magical enough. They don’t need all of those cheap effects. I should send them a well-written letter, demanding satisfaction! *pounds fist on desk*

The minute I read “my friends are going out drinking/clubbing”, I clicked on your ‘About’ page. And I found out you live in Hong Kong! I reside in Shanghai so I’m only a waters part away.
But I understand how you feel. I just don’t get into those kind of things, which is probably why I don’t like my life in China. Unfortunately, Ben & Jerry’s is too expensive to purchase here. Thus, I sit in front of my computer and eat cherries.
    Yes, cherries.

I feel the same way, too. I just can’t seem to get myself to be active though. I’ve been sitting in front of my laptop all summer just watching movies, shows, and blogging. i’ve been trying to get myself more involved with DIY projects though! Haha, and I did attempt to start a novel just to see if it would work. I wrote maybe half a chapter and it’ laying around in my folders somewhere. :)

Btdubs, I’m mad that they’re splitting the Deathly Hallows movie into Two Parts. I am not a patient wait-er.

I was going to reply on your site but I don’t have an LJ account to comment with so I’ll just reply here :P
That’s awesome that you live in Shanghai :D I’ve never actually been, I was planning on going this summer for the World Expo but that fell through. But we do live pretty close to each other! Literally waters apart.

Aw, were you from China originally or did you just move there? I don’t get into that sort of stuff either. It just seems kind of weird for me because I’m like a total kid and I love staying at home and just chillaxing. I’ve never found going out and drinking all that appealing. All you get is a bad hangover.

Is Ben and Jerry’s really expensive there? I’ve always thought it would be cheaper there. It’s actually pretty expensive here as well especially if you buy a cup from the actual Ben and Jerry’s store. It’s around 30+ HKD per cup but pretty much all the ice cream stores like Haggen deiz (I think that’s how you spell it?), etc. sell them for around the same price. It’s a lot cheaper if you buy the giant tubs of ice cream from the supermarket because it’s way bigger and it’s only like 50 dollars or something which is worth the price considering the size.

LOL that sucks that you have to resort to eating cherries (unless you like them in which case that’s cool). I’m not much of a cherry person, like I eat them sometimes but I wouldn’t eat them as a snack :P
Haha I’ve been doing the same as you :D I’ve been trying to do some stuff as well and even though it’s not a lot I think I’ve been more productive this summer than I was last.

Yay a novel! :D I love writing novels. That’s what I tried to do last summer but then I stopped after a few pages because I didn’t think it was that good. I always start off with a few pages and then I think it sucks or I can’t think of a better plot so I just stop writing. I don’t think I’m going to do it this summer because I don’t want to force myself to write something and then just stop half way. I’d rather come up with a really awesome story, outline it and then finish the whole thing once and for all.

Ikr it sucks that they’re splitting it into two parts D: I WANT TO WATCH THE WHOLE THING MAN. But I guess two parts means more Harry Potter and more Harry Potter = good? I’m going to bawl once all the movies are over because once the movies are over, Harry Potter has officially ended :(
