Happy Birthday to Me
It’s my birthday today! Or maybe it was yesterday. I’m still trying to get the hang of this time difference thing. I’m majorly jet-lagged and I’ve been suffering from insomnia for days. There’s an 11 hour time difference between New York and Hong Kong and my biological clock isn’t adjusting to the madness that is time difference. When I arrived in New York yesterday morning (or maybe it was the day before yesterday, because frankly, I have no idea what day it is today), I was feeling groggy and disorientated from the 15 hour flight. My limbs were all cramped up from being crammed in a tiny seat for 15 hours. I take back what I said about flights being fun, because they’re far from it. I was listening to The Hunger Games on audiobook in attempt to fall asleep to the monotonous voices. And when I finally managed to succumb to sweet slumber, the audiobook kept on blaring in my head and then I was startled into semi-consciousness. It’s like falling asleep to the television. You’re on the sofa watching Powerpuff Girls and you dose off, but after a few minutes Mojojojo goes “I AM MOJOJOJO” and you wake up to a hypnic jerk and you’re like “HUH? WHAT?!”
The moment I stepped out of that airport, I was greeted by the icy winds of New York City. It felt like hundreds of daggers being pierced through my skin and ice cubes forced through my ears and into my head. I literally experienced a brain freeze. It was until a while later did I realize that this December has been New York’s coldest winter in 75 years. The year I come to New York, it decides to set the record of coldest winter to date? I mean, I’m Asian. I’m from Hong Kong. I don’t do -10 celcius winters. Even the New Yorkers were bundled up in scarves and down jackets. If they find it cold, you can imagine how cold I was. Everyone knows that I’m the frailest person ever.
I celebrated my birthday twice. On my ‘official’ birthday, my parents took me to a Japanese restaurant called Nobu. And on my celebratory birthday, we went to a steakhouse with my cousins to have T-Bone steaks. The booming Italian waiters sang ‘Happy Birthday’ at the top of their voices while carrying a plate of cheesecake with a flaming candle planted in it. My dad got me a pair of Sony headphones and my mom bought me a load of random tidbits. I might take a photo of everything later. The rest of them still owe me presents. They obviously haven’t heard of my loan shark reputation.
Haha it would be awesome if you had a Christmas tree in your hotel room lol. Yeah I think the brand BLOND is only available in the Netherlands. A lot of people don’t know it but it’s very popular here.
Haha yes, I’m Cantonese and I can’t speak it a little bit, not fluently. Can you? I hope you will never meet a mafia (or something) haha.
Okay, it is not your birthday today but still, I haven’t congratulated you yet! So, congrats haha. I’m Asian too but I born here in the Netherlands so I’m used to it. It’s very cold here though, like -5 celcious..
Pretty stupid. But next year I will celebrate it, it will be my sweet 16 then haha
I hope my mom will buy me a Vespa (she won’t I’m sure about that).
Ah it’s so cool you celebrated your birthday twice! I haven’t even celebrated my birthday this year. I wanted to but I did not know anything to do and then I forgot it

Hey! Thanks for the comment a while ago, I forgot to comment back due to going on a hiatus, haha. Hope you had a great christmas though, it doesn’t matter if you didn’t get your parents anything, it’s about being with your family at christmas, the presents are just bonuses, right? haha. Aww first time seeing snow? I bet that felt nice, despite the coldness, haha! Oh and a happy new year too! horrid henry is ok I guess, it’s much better than some of the crap they have for children these days
How are you enjoying new york? I was going to go nov this year but decided against going in that month due to that exact reason.. too cold! lol. 15 hours on a plane? holy cows.. I thought my 7 hour flight to NY was bad
I can tell you I’m not looking forward to flying there next year, I hate flying! hehe

Happy birthday! Did you satisfy your longing of visiting a Walmart?
Ooo, and cheesecake is sooooo good! Even better with a candle on it!
I’m from Florida, so cold isn’t something I’m good with. But it’s been really chilly down here lately as well! I haven’t been to NY before but I want to go very much!

Hey! I love your layout! It’s really creative! ^_^ Happy (late) Birthday too… haha, don’t you hate jetlag? Once I was flying BACKWARDS or in a sense backwards. Basically once we touched down, the time was earlier than it was before and the sun was rising, when it had been setting only a few hours prior. It’s strangely fascinating… lol. Well again, awesome site!

Haha Australia is generally hot, very hot in the summer. I’ve lived here in Australia all my life though. It never snows and we’ll never have a white Christmas.
Happy belated birthday! Obviously this is super late because your blog was written a while ago. I hope you got more presents haha. My parents didn’t give me much for my birthday last year, or for Christmas. We’re such big savers on everything. *sigh*
I actually wish I could go to New York, or America… I want to go to New Jersey.
It would take a whopping 22 hours to get there by plane from here, though. It sucks. I would really like to visit America.
Very cold winters are not for me either. When you get into the minus degrees, it’s intense. O_o

Happy belated Birthday!!
Sorry I couldn’t greet you on your birthday!
I hope you had a great time though!
I’ve always wanted to go to New York. It sounds like a nice city to visit. But I haven’t been outside of California much. :\
I love Japanese food. Not really the sushi part, but I enjoy eating Japanese food.
Okay, it’s making me kind of hungry. Time to have a late lunch.

RAINIE.
Your comment made me cry. Honestly. I can’t belivie people like that exist in the world. Don’t you agree? How can people just do that, knowing that they are basically killing people inside. It’s plain evil.
Really? Why are they so mean for!? How would they like it if I went up to them and started bullying them? And pick out every single bad thing about them. Eh? They wouldn’t like it now, would they? If people were saying ‘WHATTTTTTT?’ to me, I would directly kick them where it hurts then slap them.
They put sand down your back?! OMG!! Hell no. They can’t fucking do that. It’s so mean. OMG. If that was me, I would ofthrew sand in their eyes. I can’t belivie it. That’s so mean.. That counts as physical bullying, because your getting hurt physically (kinda) and emotionally. I swear, if I was some kind of super hero person, I would of helped you and whoever esle is getting bullied. It does lower self essem, like my sister she’s not just scared to present or perform but terrified.
Thank you. That means a lot. My sister will no longer get bullied or anything cause I will stick up to her. Those bastards aren’t going to fucking touch her.
Im so so so sorry that you had to go through all that. I really am. I hope everything is good in your new school.

To look cool? Do they even know what cool means? Bullying people definatly isn’t cool to me, more like sad; they are sad messed up people if all they do to make themseleves look cool is to bully. I can’t stand people like that.
Omg, I know right. 2 years? That’s just sad, as I said above, it ain’t cool, it ain’t funny. I’ll tellyou what it is: Frigging sad. Frigging stupid. PERIOD.
LOL. If I could I would be some kind of superhero haha. Seriously, I can’t stand and watch people treat other people differently. It’s stupid. People are people. We are humans. We don’t need our rights taken away from us. Gosh, I can’t stand it. Teachers suck. And I emphasis the word suck. Honestly they say, ‘Yeah, we will not take bullying and treating other people differently’ and whn you tell them about it, they do nothing. So fucking stupid, if hey can’t help what the point in saying all that shit?? lmfao.
That’s all I can say. Bullying is an issue, it will never die down. As you said all you can do is PRAY you ain’t the victim.
